Het verhaal
Calvin Vlaanderen werd geboren in Port Elizabeth in Zuid-Afrika en rijdt voor Nederland. In 2014 maakte hij zijn debuut in het WK MX2, in Duitsland. In 2018 won hij met Team HRC in Indonesië zijn eerste GP en werd hij zesde in het WK.
In 2019 won hij met Herlings en Coldenhoff in Assen de Nations. Een jaar later stapte hij over naar de MXGP, bij Gebben Van Venrooy Yamaha. In 2022 won hij in Sardinië zijn eerste MXGP-Grand Prix, met winst in beide manches, en werd hij Dutch Masters-kampioen in de 500cc.
Daarna reed hij twee jaar in het fabrieksteam van Yamaha. In 2024 kostte een knieblessure in de GP van Nederland hem de laatste vier GP's en de Nations. In 2026 reed hij voor Ducati, in het team van Louis Vosters, en werd hij elfde in het WK. Voor 2027 tekende hij bij SR Motoblouz Honda.
